Life’s Work

Gábor graduated from the Faculty of General Economics at the Marx Károly University of Economics in 1977. Following his studies, he worked as a scientific researcher in Austria and later held senior positions at Kopint-Datorg, first as Director of Statistics and Analysis, and later as Head of IT. His career in management consulting began in 1990 at Arthur Andersen, where he first served as Deputy Managing Director, and later as Director of Andersen Consulting. Between 1993 and 1994, he was Development Director at Hi-Care Ltd.

In the autumn of 1994, Gábor began building what would become the masterpiece of his professional life: he founded AAM Management Information Consulting Ltd. He served as Partner and Managing Director, then became President & CEO following the company’s transformation into a private joint-stock company in 2002. He was later appointed Chairman, a position he held until the end of 2024.

Under his leadership, AAM evolved from a 10-person startup into the largest Hungarian-owned management consulting firm within just 15 years. The company grew into a major enterprise with more than 200 employees and an annual revenue of nearly HUF 4.5 billion. Gábor played a key role in shaping AAM’s distinctive spirit and organizational culture, both as a company and as a workplace. Thanks to this culture, AAM was ranked 4th twice in Hungary’s "Best Workplace" awards by the human resources consultancy Aon Hewitt in the mid-2000s.

Throughout his career, Gábor received numerous professional awards, including IT Executive of the Year in 2009, receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award for Consulting from the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2015, and being awarded CEO of the Year in 2018.

He was also active in academia, teaching for two decades at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Pécs. He contributed as a department head, lecturer, program leader, and thesis advisor. The subject of Management Consulting was introduced at the university under his guidance.

Gábor’s contributions to public and professional life are also notable. He served two terms as President of the Hungarian Association of Management Consultants, and remains an active member of its Ethics Committee.

In recognition of his exceptional achievements and legacy, Gábor was honored as the very first inductee into the Hall of fAAMe by the AAM community.
